Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry has appointed John Condos, a Lake Charles businessman and major Republican donor, to the LSU Board of Supervisors. Condos, who owns healthcare and medical marijuana businesses, previously served on the University of Louisiana System Board and has been a Landry appointee to the Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District since 2024.

Condos replaces Glenn Armentor, who resigned after missing a year of meetings. The Lafayette attorney had been appointed by former Governor John Bel Edwards in 2016. Condos has donated over $150,000 to Landry and supporting groups since the governor's campaign began, with total contributions exceeding $687,000 to various candidates and political organizations since 2003.

As UL System athletics committee chairman, Condos advocated for hiring former LSU basketball coach Will Wade at McNeese State, where Wade was later fired amid recruiting violation allegations. Both Landry and Board Chairman Lee Mallett have pushed for Wade's return to LSU, though the board currently lacks an athletics subcommittee chairman after John Carmouche became Mallett's vice chairman in February.
