A 20-year-old Army Reserve soldier was killed in an Iranian drone strike at Kuwait's Port of Shuaiba while supporting Operation Epic Fury. Sgt. Declan Coady spent his final hours reassuring his family, telling his brother 'I'm good' moments before the attack.

The Department of War (DOW) identified him as one of six U.S. soldiers killed. His father described how the family learned of the casualties Sunday morning but initially dismissed it, believing Declan had spoken to his brother in Italy hours earlier. Coady, a Drake University student from Iowa, had recently been recommended for promotion to sergeant.

His unit deployed in September and was due home in May. The Pentagon confirmed the attack, though two additional soldiers remain unidentified. This incident underscores potential vulnerabilities in coalition operations within Kuwait.
