Bodycam footage has surfaced showing 56 blindfolded fraternity pledges packed into a dark basement at the University of Iowa during a November 2024 incident that sparked a major hazing investigation. The video, which recently resurfaced on social media, shows police responding to a fire alarm at the Alpha Delta Phi house and discovering the pledges in a cluttered, dimly lit space.

Most of the shirtless pledges were blindfolded and standing silently with their hands at their sides as officers questioned them about the gathering. A 21-year-old man was initially arrested on suspicion of interfering with official acts after stepping between police and witnesses during the investigation, though charges were later dropped. The fraternity's president told authorities the gathering was part of a pre-initiation ritual where pledges were blindfolded and "messed with."

The University of Iowa launched an investigation and suspended the fraternity until at least July 1, 2029, following the incident. University officials have not released further details about their investigation but confirmed the suspension remains in effect. The shocking footage has reignited concerns about hazing practices on college campuses and the lengths fraternities will go to maintain secretive initiation rituals.
