Hip Mobility Coach Reveals 3 Essential Moves for 'Liquid' Flexibility

A mobility coach has shared three beginner-friendly exercises designed to improve hip mobility and release tension from joints. The half frog pose targets internal hip rotation by opening one leg at a time while keeping the knee relaxed on the mat. This gentler alternative to full frog pose helps with movements that bring limbs closer to the body.

Clamshells strengthen the gluteus medius while opening the groin and stretching inner thighs. Using a loop band above the knees adds resistance, though bodyweight works fine. The modified side plank position protects the shoulder joint while focusing on opening the top knee as far as possible. These exercises form a mini circuit that can be added to existing mobility routines.

Figure-4 stretch provides a dual benefit by stretching glutes and opening hips simultaneously. The supine position is gentle on the lower back, and practitioners can deepen the stretch by lifting both legs toward the chest. The coach recommends starting with 30 seconds per exercise, focusing on controlled breathing, and repeating for 2-3 rounds. For those with injuries or health conditions, consulting a physician before starting is advised.
