Tens of thousands of Czech citizens rallied in Prague to support President Petr Pavel amid a growing dispute with the government. The protests, organized by the Million Moments for Democracy group, followed Pavel's refusal to approve a minister from the new eurosceptic coalition. At the heart of the conflict is Pavel's objection to the nomination of Filip Turek as environment minister. Pavel accused Foreign Minister Petr Macinka of sending threatening text messages.
