A crypto market crash saw over $2.5 billion in liquidations as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP prices collapsed. Bitcoin fell 8% to $77,195, its lowest in nine months, while Ethereum plunged 13% to $2,362. Most major altcoins also tumbled double digits, extending a broad 7.5% market decline.

The liquidation wave hit leveraged traders hardest. Data from CoinGlass showed $2.41 billion in long positions wiped out, with Ethereum accounting for $1.14 billion of losses. Bitcoin followed with $765 million. Traders on Myriad now give BTC a 65% chance of falling further before any rebound.

Market fears around a U.S. government shutdown and AI investment bubbles fueled the selloff. Investors pulled $1.5 billion from U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs last week. Meanwhile, gold and silver briefly hit record highs as traders fled risk assets, only to see metals drop Friday.
