Standard Chartered predicts Bitcoin will fall to $50,000 and Ethereum to $1,400 before rebounding to $100,000 and $4,000 by end-2026, according to a new forecast from the bank's digital asset research head Geoff Kendrick. The projections come amid significant ETF outflows and a challenging market for cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin ETFs have seen assets under management drop 41% from their October peak of $165 billion to $96 billion, while Ethereum ETFs fell 43% from $23 billion to $13 billion. Kendrick notes institutional involvement and ETF structures will likely cushion the downside compared to previous cycles, though near-term volatility remains likely as the market matures.

At current prices, Bitcoin trades around $67,456 after a 27% drop in 30 days, while Ethereum sits at $1,969. Despite lowering short-term forecasts, Standard Chartered maintains its long-term outlook, still targeting Bitcoin at $500,000, Ethereum at $40,000, and Solana at $2,000 by 2030.
