Former CNN and NewsNation host Ashleigh Banfield is standing by her controversial report that Tommaso Cioni, the son-in-law of missing 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, is a "prime suspect" in the case. Banfield first made the claims on her _Drop Dead Serious_ podcast, citing sources who said authorities seized a car belonging to Guthrie's daughter Annie.

Banfield told Dan Abrams on SiriusXM that her source has consistently stood by the reporting since Nancy Guthrie was reported missing. The Pima County Sheriff's Department has disputed the claims, stating they haven't identified any suspects or persons of interest. Banfield argues that several details from her initial report have since been corroborated, including that Annie's car was towed and cameras at the residence were damaged.

The journalist points to Fox News Digital reporting that small glass fragments were found under the camera at Nancy's Tucson home. Banfield maintains that doorbell footage allegedly shows a suspect in a ski mask and gloves smashing the cameras after failing to remove them from their brackets. She suggests the sheriff's department's concern about retaliation for leaks indicates her reporting may be accurate.
