Actress Alex Kingston is sharing her experience with uterine cancer symptoms she initially attributed to getting older. The 62-year-old ER and Dr. Who star underwent a hysterectomy and radiation therapy after her 2024 diagnosis. Kingston encourages people not to dismiss unusual bodily changes, noting how she mistook bloating, weight gain, and slow-healing injuries for normal aging effects.

The health advocate revealed she only realized something serious was wrong when she started hemorrhaging on stage during a performance. "I thought all these things were part and parcel of getting older," Kingston said. She first spoke publicly about her diagnosis while competing on Strictly Come Dancing, where she shared her story to raise awareness.

Health professionals warn eight common symptoms might indicate cancer rather than aging: persistent bloating, unexplained pain, constant fatigue, skin changes, heavy night sweats, period abnormalities, increased urination, and erectile dysfunction. Medical consultation remains essential when symptoms persist beyond typical aging patterns.
