Trump Criticizes Big Oil for Record Profits

President Trump has publicly criticized major oil companies, specifically naming Exxon Mobil and Chevron, for what he deems "making too much money." He stated that these companies should return some of their record profits to the public. "When you look at one company where they made 12 times what they made the year before, they ought to give some of that back to the public," Trump told reporters. He also urged them to "cut the retail price, the consumer price."

Despite identifying as a "big free enterprise guy," Trump expressed frustration with the oil industry's substantial profits, which coincide with rising fuel prices attributed to the conflict in Iran. "You're surprised I'm saying it. I'll say it loud and clear. I'm not happy about it," he remarked regarding the industry's earnings.

The president anticipates that oil prices will decrease once the war in Iran concludes.
