Teradyne's profit and revenue have significantly increased in the second quarter, driven by the burgeoning demand for artificial intelligence.

The company reported a net income of $374.5 million, or $2.38 a share, a substantial jump from $78.4 million, or 49 cents a share, in the same period last year. Adjusted earnings per share reached $2.47, surpassing the $2.09 expected by analysts surveyed by Fact Set.

Revenue more than doubled, climbing to $1.33 billion from $652 million a year ago, exceeding Wall Street's expectation of $1.22 billion. This surge is attributed to the growing need for testing equipment for semiconductors, a critical component in the AI ecosystem.
