Space-Eyes, a Miami-based software provider, pivoted into drone-defense work and hired Eric Trump as an adviser in May. In exchange for a 6% stake, estimated at $12 million based on planned public listing, Eric Trump will facilitate conversations using his network of contacts. This move aligns with a broader pattern of the Trump sons investing in small U.S. government contractors.

Space-Eyes, which historically tracked ship movements and wildfire threats using satellite data, recently expanded into drone detection software. The two-year advisory agreement also calls for Eric Trump to provide public endorsement and strategic guidance. Company founder Jatin Bains stated Eric Trump would not be involved in procuring government contracts, though legal experts note such arrangements typically trigger compliance red flags at traditional corporations.

A spokesperson for Eric Trump emphasized his lack of role in day-to-day operations and belief in the company's technology. The agreement marks a notable shift for the Trump brothers, who have become active investors in sectors like drone companies, tungsten mining, and nuclear energy since their father's second term began. While U.S. officials face restrictions owning stakes in contractors, the law does not apply to their adult children.
