René Redzepi, the acclaimed chef behind Copenhagen's Noma, is returning to the restaurant as creative director, less than five months after announcing his departure. Redzepi, 48, will transition from hands-on kitchen duties to overseeing a new vision for Noma as a food industry research-and-development hub.

This move comes amid persistent questions regarding the restaurant's culture, following abuse allegations that Redzepi stated prompted reflection and therapy. His new role aims to redefine Noma beyond its fine-dining reputation.

Noma's dining room will reopen on Aug. 5 under new leadership, with a tasting menu priced at approximately $700 per person, changing monthly. The restaurant, which held three Michelin stars since 2021, will reopen without them.
