MGM Resorts International announced a stronger profit and modest revenue increase for its second quarter, with its Las Vegas Strip properties showing notable performance. The company’s overall revenue grew 1% to $4.45 billion, surpassing analyst expectations. Net profit reached $292.4 million, a significant improvement from the previous year’s $49 million. Adjusted earnings per share were 59 cents, exceeding the forecast of 56 cents.

Revenue from MGM’s Las Vegas Strip resorts climbed 3% to $2.2 billion. This growth was attributed to robust convention bookings and increased air travel to the city.

Meanwhile, MGM China’s revenue remained relatively stable at approximately $1.1 billion. The company also confirmed the formation of a special committee to evaluate a takeover proposal from Barry Diller’s People Inc.
