How ASML Became the Key to AI's Future

Big tech companies are planning to spend hundreds of billions on AI infrastructure, but their ambitions hinge on a little-known Dutch company. ASML is the world's only supplier of the complex machines required to manufacture cutting-edge chips at scale—the very silicon that powers ChatGPT and Gemini.

Now ASML is scrambling to keep up with unprecedented demand. The company is constructing new facilities, converting existing clean rooms, and developing even more advanced machines capable of producing more chips. CEO Christophe Fouquet stated this month that the company lifted its revenue guidance, emphasizing: "We do not want to be the bottleneck for our customers."

The chipmaker is also hiring additional engineers while eliminating leadership roles to accelerate decision-making. With AI chip demand showing no signs of slowing, ASML's production capacity could determine whether tech giants can deliver on their massive AI investments.
