Galp Eyes Solar-Wind Sale as Oil Prices Shift

Galp Energia may move to sell its solar and wind holdings, RBC Capital Markets analyst Biraj Borkhataria says. Galp is buying 15 onshore wind farms in Spain for a 420‑million‑euro deal, after acquiring another portfolio in April for 320‑million‑euro. The combined wind‑solar mix could fetch a higher valuation than a solar‑only portfolio. Shares fell 3.6% to 19.31 euros.

In Europe, stocks slid after President Trump halted a possible military escalation against Iran. Brent crude fell 5.8% to 86.37 a barrel and WTI dropped 3.9% to 76.25. BP and Shell fell 3.5% and 1.8% respectively; Total Energies down 2.7%, Repsol 2%, Eni 4%, and Galp 4.6%.

Goldman Sachs warned Asia could see higher inflation as oil prices rise, keeping its Brent forecast at $80 per barrel for Q4, citing potential U.S.‑Iran strikes and a Red Sea bottleneck. Import and producer prices spiked across the region, though subsidies have moderated fuel costs.
