Fox Television's fiscal third quarter saw revenue slide to $1.56 billion, down from $2.04 billion a year earlier. The drop stems largely from losing Super Bowl broadcast rights, a high‑profile event that historically pumps advertising dollars. Without the marquee game, the network struggled to attract marquee advertisers today.

Net income fell to $175 million, a sharp decline from $354 million last year, while earnings per share dropped to 38 cents from 75 cents. Adjusted earnings hit $1.32 a share, topping analyst expectations of $1.00. The gap highlights the revenue shock Fox faces without the Super Bowl.

Total revenue for the quarter slid to $3.99 billion, down from $4.37 billion, missing Wall Street's $3.78 billion forecast. The shortfall reflects broader market softness and the loss of a key high‑viewership slot. Advertisers are reallocating spend toward digital and streaming platforms this quarter, period in 2024 year.

Fox must now negotiate new content deals to recapture advertising momentum. The network's performance underscores the premium value of marquee sports rights in a fragmented media landscape. Investors will watch how Fox balances legacy TV with emerging digital opportunities to stabilize earnings for 2024 investors.
