Taylor Farms issued a precautionary recall of its iceberg lettuce grown and processed in central Mexico after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) retracted its earlier claim that a sample tested positive for the parasite cyclospora.

The recall follows reports that shredded lettuce served at Taco Bell locations triggered illness in five states. While the company’s other salad kits and vegetable blends remain on shelves, it emphasized its commitment to public health.

The FDA will continue its investigation, and public health authorities are working to trace the outbreak’s source. Consumers are advised to check product labels and follow current recall notices.

The agency’s reversal means the earlier alarm was a false‑positive; consumers can safely continue to use the recalled products if they no longer have those items, though the investigation remains ongoing.
