Biogen has revised its full‑year adjusted earnings outlook to $12.00$13.00 per share, down from the prior $14.25–$15.25 range.

Second‑quarter results were a sharp decline: net income fell to $97.5 million, or $66 cents a share, versus $634.8 million, or $4.33 a share, a year earlier. The drop was driven by deal‑related charges, in‑process R&D costs, the Apellis acquisition, and continued investment in Phase 3 programs. Adjusted earnings slipped to $3.60 a share, below the $2.94 forecasted by Factset analysts.

CEO Christopher A. Viehbacher said, "This quarter is a reflection of the significant progress Biogen has made repositioning the company for long‑term growth." The company remains focused on its pipeline while navigating current financial headwinds.

Overall, Biogen’s outlook reflects a tighter margin strategy but a commitment to sustained growth initiatives.
