Aviva, the British insurer and asset manager, reported a rise in operating profit in the first half of the year. The company posted 1.33 billion pounds, equivalent to $1.79 billion, up from 1.07 billion pounds a year earlier, reflecting stronger performance across its core lines.

Despite this success, Aviva lowered its full‑year expectations for its health division. The insurer now expects the arm to deliver an operating profit of 90 million pounds, down from the previously forecasted 100 million pounds, signalling a more cautious outlook.

The company attributed the lowered outlook to slowing market growth in consumer and small and medium enterprise channels, but emphasized that it will continue to invest in the business and sees it as an attractive long‑term opportunity for growth.

Aviva’s Solvency II shareholder cover ratio—a key measure of capital strength—was 176 % at the end of the first half, compared with 180 % at the end of 2025, indicating maintained resilience despite the market slowdown.
