Auto and transport sector news highlights Magna International's improving margins despite lower vehicle production, with adjusted EBIT margin reaching 6.2% in the second quarter. Sales rose 3% to $10.98 billion, benefiting from currency exchange and new launches, according to TD Cowen analyst Brian Morrison.

Ferrari's strong second quarter, exceeding earnings expectations by 5%, was propelled by its F80 supercar and robust personalization revenue. Deutsche Bank analyst Nicolai Kempf noted that while management raised full-year guidance, it was largely in line with consensus. Kempf views the updated outlook as conservative, anticipating further upgrades alongside Q3 results given the F80 ramp-up and richer product mix. Shares increased 1.1%.

Renault reported a solid first half despite a challenging market. Berenberg analysts cautioned that strong EBIT and free cash flow beats were supported by factors like higher R&D capitalization and a partner prepayment. While Renault shows good execution and insulation from certain market pressures, rising competition from Chinese manufacturers in Europe is expected to create structural margin pressure. Shares fell 0.8%.
