Altria Group posted a second‑quarter profit of $2.3 billion, or $1.37 a share, down from $2.38 billion or $1.41 a share a year earlier.

Revenue was roughly flat at $6.11 billion, a figure that exceeds the $5.35 billion forecasted by Fact Set analysts. Lower sales of nicotine pouches offset gains in the cigarettes business.

Adjusted per‑share earnings were $1.48, behind the $1.50 anticipated by analysts, according to Fact Set. The decline reflects softer performance in the oral‑tobacco line and a shift in sales mix.

These results highlight the challenges Altria faces as it balances growth in traditional cigarettes with new product categories.
