AeroVironment delivered a blowout fiscal fourth quarter, with profit surging to $63.2 million from $16.7 million a year earlier. The drone maker posted $1.25 per share for the period ended April 30, while adjusted earnings of $1.84 a share sailed past the $1.46 consensus estimate.

Revenue more than doubled to $641.6 million, crushing the $556 million Wall Street expected and dwarfing the $275.1 million recorded in the prior-year quarter. The company credited the jump to stronger product sales and service revenue across its portfolio of unmanned aircraft systems.

The performance underscores how defense contractors with mature unmanned systems portfolios are capturing outsized growth as military customers prioritize proven platforms. Product sales and service revenue both climbed compared with the year-ago period, though the company did not break out segment-level detail.

The quarter demonstrates AeroVironment can convert demand into earnings at scale. Management attributed the growth to broad-based strength across product and service lines. The beat on both revenue and adjusted earnings gives the company momentum heading into the new fiscal year.
