Wasserman Agency Draws Bidders at $3B Valuation

Casey Wasserman's talent and marketing agency is drawing takeover interest from private-equity firms and major Hollywood players, months after the power broker announced plans to sell following the release of damaging emails between him and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Bidders include the investment firms Permira, New Mountain Capital and TA Associates, along with United Talent Agency and former Endeavor chair Patrick Whitesell. The agency could be valued at around $3 billion, though the process remains in early stages and the list of prospective buyers is expected to shrink in coming weeks.

Wasserman founded the agency 20 years ago and owns a minority stake, with Providence Equity Partners holding about 60%. Clients defected after the Justice Department released documents earlier this year containing flirtatious 2005 emails between him and Maxwell. Wasserman retains veto rights over any sale.
