Asian stocks were mixed and European indexes rose strongly at market open, while U.S. stock futures rose and oil edged higher in early European trade as progress in U.S.-Iran peace talks remained clouded in uncertainty.

U.S. stocks looked set to extend a multiday rally after broad‑based gains Monday. Palantir surged over 15% in after‑hours trade after the technology giant said it nearly doubled its revenue year‑over‑year. Oil recouped some of its Monday losses, trading just shy of $85 a barrel. President Trump said the U.S. offer of talks was Iran’s “last chance,” after Tehran said it was only negotiating with Oman and had no plans for talks with Washington. Investors are treating any suggestion of peace talks with caution given recent false starts.

Oil prices rebounded after Monday’s selloff, with Brent crude up 1.3% to $84.82 a barrel and WTI up 0.6% to $80.78 a barrel. The benchmarks settled 4.7% and 5.1% lower, respectively, in the previous session. Analysts at ING noted that oil sold off sharply yesterday on optimism that a Middle East deal might be within reach, but markets may be getting ahead of themselves. Shipping traffic in the Gulf remains dangerous, with a cargo vessel off the Omani coast struck by an unknown projectile. Futures for the S&P 500 were up 0.2%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.15%, and Nasdaq futures rose 0.7%. SpaceX will deliver its first earnings report as a public company after market close.
