Madison Air to Acquire Ebm-Papst for $5.4B

Madison Air, which provides air-quality solutions, said Monday it has agreed to acquire Ebm-Papst for $5.4 billion, including debt. The acquisition will add to Madison Air's portfolio of new products that will help customers improve uptime, efficiency and productivity. Headquartered in Mulfingen, Germany, Ebm-Papst supplies high-performance airflow technologies, as well as integrated electronically commutated fan and motor systems.

Ebm-Papst's products are specified early in the HVAC/R design process, helping customers improve energy efficiency, enhance reliability and reduce total lifecycle costs across mission-critical applications. Madison Air Solutions inked the deal to expand its capabilities in airflow technology and strengthen its position in the air-quality market. The transaction reflects Madison Air's strategy to invest in complementary technologies that support sustainable and efficient operations for its global customer base.
