Deal would give FIFA a path to more than double the number of players and competitions, according to a pitch deck JPMorgan Chase is at the center of. The plan, kept secret for months, was leaked Tuesday, sparking backlash after European countries announced a boycott of the World Cup.

JPMorgan was hired early this year to value the venture, a proposal to create a new entity holding commercial rights and sell a 20% stake at a $20 billion valuation. The deck said the deal would streamline decisions, attract experienced talent and raise capital.

The proposal envisioned 650,000 players and 450 competitions by 2030, including women’s and youth programs, delivering millions to members. Critics say FIFA has been undermonetized compared with other sports leagues.
