European energy stocks opened lower on 07/31 GMT as Trump focused on diplomacy’inciting a 5.2% drop in Brent to $83.41, while WTI fell 3.3% to $73.94. In London, BP slid 2.1% and Shell 1.2%. Total Energies, Eni and Repsol dipped about 2.2%, and Equinor fell just over 3%.

At 0145 GMT, Fluence attracted a new bull at Bell Potter. Analyst Ritesh Varma cited expanding margins and valuation upside, noting first‑half gross margin rose to 35.5% from 26.8%. He highlighted a potential Ivory Coast O&M contract and set a target price of 11 Australian cents. Shares are up 2.6% at A$0.08.

At 0119 GMT, UBS’s Origin Energy bull Tom Allen saw lower risks around next month’s annual result. Origin’s A$911 million LNG dividend was about A$110 million above consensus, suggesting a chance to beat final dividend expectations. UBS lifted its target price by 0.4% to 13.45 AUD. Shares are up 1.6% at A$10.93.
