San Francisco-based startup Decart has developed software that simplifies switching between AI processors from different manufacturers, catching the attention of Nvidia, which joined a new $300 million funding round led by Radical Ventures. The investment signals growing demand for flexible AI computing solutions as companies scramble for computing capacity.

The funding round values Decart at nearly $4 billion, representing a substantial increase from its $3.1 billion valuation in August when it raised $153 million from Sequoia Capital and Benchmark. Founded in 2023 by Israeli engineers Dean and Orian Leitersdorf along with Moshe Shalev, Decart addresses a critical pain point in AI development.

Decart's emergence comes as "an ocean of capital sloshes into startups seeking to make AI computing more efficient," according to the Wall Street Journal. The company's solution could reduce complexity and costs for AI developers who currently face challenges when switching between processors from multiple manufacturers.
