Asian stocks tumbled as mounting doubts over the cost of the artificial‑intelligence boom triggered a selloff in tech shares.

The South Korean Kospi index fell 10%, with SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics each dropping more than 13%. The steep losses prompted the Korea Exchange to briefly suspend trading twice in the main Kospi index and the tech‑heavy Kosdaq.

Japan’s Nikkei Stock Average fell 4%. The declines followed a broad drop in chip stocks in the U.S. on Monday, with Nvidia falling 5%. Early on Tuesday, Nasdaq‑100 futures were about 1% lower.

In oil markets, prices continued to fall, with Brent crude futures down 2% to about $84 a barrel.
