President Trump announced a Washington rally featuring Lee Greenwood and Christopher Macchio after several musicians withdrew from the Freedom 250 celebrations. Young MC, Martina McBride, and Bret Michaels canceled their appearances on the National Mall between June 25 and July 10. These artists claimed they were not informed about the event's political nature before being promoted by the White House.

Trump responded to the cancellations by telling the departed singers to stay home, claiming he does not want talentless performers who charge high fees. He specifically praised Greenwood's hit song "God Bless the U.S.A." and outlined Macchio's repertoire, which includes "Nessun dorma" and "Ave Maria." Military bands will also perform during the June 24 rally.

While most performers exited, Vanilla Ice maintained his commitment, stating he would perform for anyone regardless of the venue or leader. Rachel Reisner, a spokeswoman for the organization, stated the goal is to commemorate the milestone in a way that unites Americans. The shift in the lineup transforms the event into a Presidential rally rather than a broad commercial fair.
