Schlossberg launches ad with Pelosi as he eyes NY House seat

Jack Schlossberg, JFK grandson, entered Democratic primary for NY's 12th district, aiming to succeed Jerrold Nadler. He debuted a 30‑second ad featuring former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who praises his “deep sense of duty.” The move signals his effort to counter questions about his limited political résumé and appeal to the party’s older base in a district that houses major corporate and media firms.

Schlossberg’s media buy is modest by Manhattan standards. The campaign allocated $70,000 for digital ads and plans to add $250,000 for broadcast spots, a fraction of the millions poured by rival super‑PACs backed by AI firms and former mayor Michael Bloomberg. He declined to use any of his inherited wealth, estimated between $10 million and $32 million, for the race at this stage.

With two months until the June primary, Schlossberg leads in private polls released by opponents, while state assemblymen Alex Bores and Micah Lasher trail closely, followed by former Republican operative George Conway and public‑health specialist Nina Schwalbe. Because the 12th district leans heavily Democratic, the primary winner will almost certainly capture the open seat, shaping New York’s liberal caucus.
