### Paramount Cleared to Buy Warner Bros.

Paramount reached an agreement to resolve an antitrust lawsuit delaying its **$111 billion** acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, eliminating the last barrier to a media colossus. A group of states, led by **California’s** Democratic attorney general, sued in July, arguing the deal would concentrate too much industry ownership. The deal would make **David Ellison**, Paramount’s chief executive, one of entertainment’s most powerful figures. After weeks of negotiations, Paramount and the states agreed to concessions.

Separately, CNN, MS NOW and Politico sued the Trump administration for barring them from the White House grounds, arguing the ban violated their First Amendment rights. Trump banned the outlets Friday over negative coverage. Major TV networks suspended pooled coverage after the White House refused to let CNN serve as pool representative. Trump defended his actions on social media, writing the White House is not assaulting the Free Press but “FAKE NEWS.”

Yemen has spiraled into full-blown war. **Saudi Arabia**, a U.S. ally, is fighting the Iran-backed Houthis, who have attacked ships and disrupted Saudi oil routes. The Saudi crown prince implored Trump to intervene militarily. Trump initially rebuffed him, then told the Pentagon to prepare airstrikes, but reversed course as bombs were loaded, officials said.
