These demonstrations follow two previous nationwide protests that drew millions of participants. The October 2025 event saw over seven million people attend rallies in all 50 states, while the June 2025 protest coincided with Trump's military parade and birthday celebration. Saturday's protests are expected to see even larger turnout, with events planned in public parks and downtown areas nationwide.

Organized by progressive groups including Indivisible, 50501, and MoveOn, the protests will focus on various grievances against the federal government, from immigration enforcement to voting rights. Participants are encouraged to avoid confrontations and refrain from bringing weapons. The timing comes as Trump's approval rating hovers around 40 percent and Democrats eye potential gains in upcoming midterm elections.
