The Trump administration said on Friday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers had arrested Milo Yiannopoulos, the prominent right-wing agitator and early supporter of President Trump, at the New Orleans airport. Public ICE detention records confirmed he was in custody, but did not say where he was being held. The Homeland Security Department said he had overstayed his visa and was issued a final deportation order in July, meaning he faces possible removal from the country.

The department publicized his arrest, circulating an unflattering mug shot and warning other immigrants to "take control of their departure" by self-deporting. The arrest follows the administration's efforts targeting foreign citizens at airports, with agents in plain clothes whisking away individuals using airline-provided information. Yiannopoulos, a British citizen, has lived in the U.S. since 2015 on a nonimmigrant visa for "extraordinary ability." He did not respond to messages seeking comment.

Yiannopoulos was a prominent Trump supporter during the 2016 campaign and briefly had a speaking slot at CPAC in 2017, but fell from grace after a video surfaced where he condoned sexual relations with boys as young as 13. CPAC rescinded his invitation, and he resigned from Breitbart. He was later banned from Twitter in 2016 for harassment, but reinstated in 2022 by Elon Musk.

More recently, he worked for Marjorie Taylor Greene and Ye (formerly Kanye West), and claimed credit for organizing a 2022 dinner with Trump and Fuentes. Laura Loomer, a right-wing activist, took credit for the arrest, saying she had notified DHS about his immigration status. "Loomered!" she said, using her term for those targeted by the Trump administration.
