Kolodin claims Arizona voters demand greater transparency and more polling‑station observers. He argues that Fontes has not met these expectations, while Fontes—who ran Maricopa County elections—has defended election integrity against Trump‑era challenges.

The Secretary of State’s duties include certifying voting devices, election results, ballot measures, and statewide outcomes. Kolodin’s campaign emphasizes “openness” in election administration as the state heads toward the 2028 presidential campaign.

Fontes, who won a 2022 race over a Trump‑endorsed opponent, will seek a second term after overseeing the 2024 election where President Donald Trump carried Arizona.
