Bryan Kohberger, convicted of the murders of four University of Idaho students, has expressed his desire to withdraw his guilty plea. In an interview with The New York Times from prison, Kohberger stated he has filed a petition to reopen the case, attributing his plea to "false promises" and misinformation.

Kohberger had entered a guilty plea last year, during which he publicly confessed to the killings. This development marks a significant shift in the legal proceedings for the Idaho student murders.

The case involved the stabbing deaths of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin. Kohberger, a Washington State University Ph.D. student at the time, was arrested in December 2022.
