King Charles III and Queen Camilla capped their New York visit Wednesday with the King's Trust Global Gala at Christie's, where the event raised $3 million for the youth charity founded by Charles in 1976. The auction house hosted the royal couple's final official engagement of their U.S. state visit.

The glittering gala drew A-list guests including Anna Wintour, Martha Stewart, Donatella Versace and Stella McCartney, who aligned herself with the king's environmental advocacy. Queen Camilla arrived in a leopard-print dress while Charles needled Lionel Richie—present but not performing—joking that the musician "must gargle with port." The JP Morgan Chase building later flashed the Union Jack in tribute.

The visit marked the couple's first U.S. trip as heads of state, spanning Washington, Virginia and New York. Earlier Wednesday, they toured the 9/11 Memorial and met children at a Harlem youth program. Charles told guests the gala celebrated "the enduring cultural bond between the people of the United Kingdom and the United States."
