Thousands of residents on Oahu remained displaced Saturday as Hawaii faced its worst flooding in two decades. Governor Josh Green warned that an additional four to six inches of rain could fall through the weekend, with the storm system moving south toward Maui, where up to 12 inches of rain was forecast.

Emergency crews have conducted at least 200 rescues on the island, where roadways and buildings remain submerged. The Wahiawa Reservoir dam, swollen to a record 85.10 feet, had threatened failure Friday before dropping to 81 feet by Saturday morning. Roughly 5,500 people remain evacuated from North Shore communities including Waialua and Haleiwa.

Residents described a ravaged landscape of brown floodwaters, debris-strewn farmlands, and collapsed structures. The Hawaii Emergency Management Agency continues damage assessments while flash flood warnings remain in effect for northern Oahu and parts of Maui and Molokai. Community members have mobilized bulldozers and heavy machinery for rescue operations and debris cleanup in areas emergency crews cannot reach.
