Atlanta rap mogul Gucci Mane was held at gunpoint in January at a Dallas music studio, forcing him to release rapper Pooh Shiesty from his record contract, federal authorities revealed. The incident involved nine defendants, including Pooh Shiesty and rapper Big30, who allegedly used an AK-style pistol during the confrontation at a Dallas music studio.

Pooh Shiesty, whose real name is Lontrell Williams Jr., confronted Gucci Mane, born Radric Davis, over contract terms on January 10. Another rapper, Rodney Wright Jr. (Big30), brought the weapon that Williams brandished. The affidavit states that Wright recorded the confrontation, during which Davis was forced to verbally release Williams from his contract. Williams then robbed Davis of his wedding ring, watch, earrings, and cash.

All nine defendants face potential life sentences if convicted. At the time, Williams was on home detention wearing an ankle monitor in an unrelated federal weapons case. He had previously been sentenced to 63 months in 2022 for conspiracy to possess firearms. The incident occurred at a studio on Dallas Parkway, where Davis had been led to believe he was attending a business meeting. Eight of the nine defendants were arrested Wednesday, with one still at large as of Thursday evening.
