German Actress: Husband Created Deepfake Abuse

German actress Collien Fernandes has identified her husband, Christian Ulmen, as the perpetrator behind deepfake pornography posted online in her name for over a decade. Fernandes, who had been campaigning against deepfake abuse for years, discovered Ulmen was responsible after reporting the crimes to police. The couple separated last year.

Fernandes alleges Ulmen created fake online accounts, posted pornographic images, and initiated relationships with 30 men who believed they were communicating with her. In some cases, he used computer-generated audio to impersonate her voice during phone sex. Ulmen's lawyers have denied the accusations through a statement.

The revelation has sparked national outrage in Germany, with protests in multiple cities including Berlin. Justice Minister Stefanie Hubig is accelerating efforts to criminalize deepfake pornography, while parliament held emergency debates about online attacks on women. Fernandes has filed a criminal complaint against her husband in Spain, believing authorities there would be more effective.
