A 7-month-old baby girl was fatally shot in the head by a stray bullet in Brooklyn's Williamsburg neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon. The infant, who was in a stroller with her mother, was struck around 1:20 p.m. near the corner of Moore and Humboldt Streets, according to police officials.

The child was rushed to Woodhull Hospital but pronounced dead about 25 minutes later. Police are searching for two men who fled the scene on a motorbike moments after the shooting. Both suspects were wearing hooded sweatshirts and escaped northbound on Humboldt Street, authorities said.

Witnesses reported hearing two men arguing near Sem Sem Deli before gunfire erupted. Vincent Valcassel, a lifelong Williamsburg resident, described hearing a loud shot and seeing people scatter for cover. He then saw the child on the pavement as her mother screamed for help. The shooting has shaken the community, with police helicopters circling overhead as investigators combed the area for evidence.
