Saronic Technologies, the maker of drone boats deployed in the Iran conflict, will open a new shipyard in Texas to produce both naval and commercial vessels. The facility marks a significant expansion for the company, which has demonstrated the operational value of its unmanned surface vehicles in recent combat scenarios.

Last month, one of Saronic's naval drones played a critical role in rescuing the crew of a downed Apache helicopter, showcasing the life-saving potential of autonomous maritime systems. This successful recovery operation highlights the growing integration of drone technology into traditional naval missions.

The Texas shipyard will enable Saronic Technologies to scale production of its naval drone platforms, which have already seen use in the Iran war. By establishing domestic manufacturing capacity, the company positions itself to meet increasing demand from the U.S. Navy and commercial operators for unmanned vessels capable of surveillance, logistics, and search-and-rescue missions.

Industry analysts view the new facility as a strategic move that strengthens the defense industrial base while advancing the adoption of autonomous systems in maritime operations.
