Saudi Arabia launched air strikes against the Houthis in Yemen after the Iranian‑backed rebels attacked Saudi tankers in the Red Sea. It marks the first coalition strikes since a 2022 truce and raises risk of renewed war.

Oil price jumped above $100 a barrel for the first time since May. The kingdom shifted exports to Yanbu via an east‑west pipeline after Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz. Saudi civil defence warned residents in Jizan and Yanbu to seek shelter.
