KPMG and Harvey Nichols are among 400 UK employers found to have paid workers less than the national minimum wage, according to government data. Big Four accountancy firm KPMG admitted to process errors affecting 59 employees, while luxury department store Harvey Nichols underpaid 83 workers by £7,537. Danish facilities group ISS acknowledged unintentional errors in paid time calculations between 2017 and 2023. These figures represent just a fraction of the total breaches, with £12.6 million in fines issued to 389 employers and over £7.3 million repaid to approximately 60,000 workers. The government stated this enforcement action stems from its November Budget commitment to more aggressively name and shame non-compliant employers.
