GSK plans to shut its historic research and development hub in Stevenage, moving most R&D activity to faʻap port on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

The move is part of a strategy to boost 上传 pipeline, with CEO Luke Miels launching 20 phase‑3 trials and targeting £40bn in revenue by 2031.

To fund the new pipeline, the company announced a cost‑saving drive aimed at £1.9bn a year by 2029, involving job cuts in support services and other areas.

The shift reflects GSK’s effort to revive fortunes after lagging behind rivals and to manage the upcoming loss of exclusivity on key drugs.
