France’s defence ministry confirmed talks with the UAE about a partnership on the next‑generation upgrade of its Rafale jet, as the country pivots after Germany abandoned the FCAS program. The move follows Paris’s need for fresh funding and expertise to replace ageing air assets by the 2030s.
