Dodger Tickets Loans Reclassified by Insurer

Delaware Life, the insurer owned by LA Dodgers owner Mark Walter, has reclassified loans to "Dodger Tickets LLC" as a "level 1" related-party investment. This shift occurred after US prosecutors began scrutinizing the insurer's private credit holdings.

Previously, Delaware Life, along with its affiliate Clear Spring Life and Annuity, had labeled over $100 million in private credit investments as unaffiliated. However, filings now indicate these loans are directly linked to Walter's entities. This reclassification significantly increased the reported affiliated assets for Delaware Life from approximately 3% to 42% and for Clear Spring from 5% to 52%.

US prosecutors had subpoenaed Walter's insurers regarding their disclosure practices for private credit investments. The scrutiny on insurers' internal linkages and potential hidden credit risks is intensifying, with concerns that related-party investments can lead to conflicts of interest and disadvantage policyholders.
