BNP Paribas reported net income of €4.3bn for Q2, a 33 per cent rise year‑on‑year, with revenues up 12% to €14.1bn. The global markets unit drove a 13% revenue jump, led by equity and prime services where revenues surged 43% to €1.4bn.

Uni Credit lifted its full‑year profit target to exceed €11bn after a record first half, and raised 2028/2030 forecasts to €13bn and €15bn respectively, while advancing its takeover of Commerzbank.

Heightened volatility around AI‑linked semiconductor and hyperscaler stocks boosted equity trading on both sides of the Atlantic, helping European banks catch up after a weak Q1. BNP’s share price has climbed nearly a third this year, making it a top performer.

The wealth, insurance and asset management division grew over 25% thanks to the integration of AXA Investment Managers, acquired in a €5bn deal last year.
