Stock futures edged lower Tuesday night as oil prices surged following the U.S. interception of an attack from Iran. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures fell 0.1%, S&P 500 futures dropped 0.1%, and Nasdaq 100 futures slipped 0.4%. West Texas Intermediate crude futures advanced approximately 4% to around $82 a barrel after U.S. Central Command reported that Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces launched ballistic missiles, which were successfully intercepted.

In corporate news, Ford Motor shares rose 4% in extended trading after exceeding earnings expectations and raising its 2026 forecast. Conversely, Visa shares declined about 1% following weaker-than-expected guidance. Investors are now anticipating the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision and Chairman Kevin Warsh's press conference on Wednesday.

Fed funds futures indicate a nearly 70% probability that the central bank will maintain its current target range of 3.5% to 3.75%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average had previously surged over 500 points on Tuesday, buoyed by falling oil prices, marking its third consecutive winning day. However, the Nasdaq Composite ended lower for the fifth straight session, impacted by struggling chip stocks, with the Van Eck Semiconductor ETF dropping 3.5% on Tuesday.
